It was only a matter of time. I’ve started receiving phishing messages that look like LinkedIn connection requests. So far the text has been identical. Note that the person who wants to connect (Mark Andronas) does not match the signature block (Neal Collins, Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development at Payroll Processing, Greater Chicago Area). The big clue is that if you hold your cursor over the “Confirm that you know Neal” button you’ll see that it doesn’t point to a LinkedIn address. On one message it pointed to a link on salesforceappi.com, on another it pointed to a link on upsclients.org. Out of curiosity I looked into those domains and they were both licensed by someone in China using the same hotmail address.
